About this book
Embarking on the journey of writing this book felt much like weaving a vast and intricate tapestry. Each article I'd previously written was a thread, a fragment of thought nestled at the intersection of strategy, leadership, energy transitions, and philosophy. Bringing them together into a coherent whole seemed, at times, an insurmountable challenge.
The genesis of this book lies in a deep desire to link together narratives and insights that have shaped my understanding of leadership and progress. Each chapter stands on the foundation of countless hours of research, reflection, and writing, embodying a unique intersection of historical precedent, modern challenges, and philosophical musings. These musings often stem from my love of philosophy and profound conversations with my son, whose insightful questions and perspectives continually inspire me and push the boundaries of my thinking.
Writing this book has been a monumental task, but one that has reaffirmed my belief in strategic leadership's power and the importance of thoughtful, informed decision-making. I hope this book serves as a guide and a source of inspiration for current and future leaders navigating our rapidly changing world. If, along the way, you find a nugget of wisdom or a spark of inspiration, then every ounce of effort has been worth it.

My goal is not to prescribe rigid frameworks, but to challenge thinking - to spark conversations, to offer perspectives, and to remind us that in the face of disruption, great leadership is not about knowing all the answers but about asking the right questions.
